TREVOR launched this week on July 24 and is out at bookstores now! So fun to see it at our local University Bookstore in Seattle. I'm planning some book signings/readings in the Seattle-metro area soon. Details to come!
About two years ago, I posted a story board for a picture book I was working on called THE LONELY BUNNY. After many drafts and great feedback from friends, it became a wordless picture book called DUST BUNNY WANTS A FRIEND. Now two years later, I'm in the process of handing off final art to the publisher, Schwartz & Wade. Such an incredible journey filled with tons of sketches, doodles, character studies, scans, paint tests, revisions and Photoshop. I can't wait to show you more, but for now I thought it would be fun to show some of the process.
DUST BUNNY WANTS A FRIEND comes out in Spring 2019.
Working on the next picture book in my national parks series. This one is about a marten in the Redwoods. My first steps have been to outline out a story then draw rough thumbnail sketches in this storyboard template.
Excited to show off the final cover for my book "Charley and the Yellowstone Sprites." More to come on the book launch later this month.
I've been making a good bit of progress over the last few weeks on the Yellowstone book illustrations. Last week, I started scanning several of the paintings and laying out the book in InDesign. One realization I had as I started doing this was that the book needed more quiet space. Having spread after spread of full on painting was overwhelming. So I'm going to do finishing touches in Photoshop. Here's some of that process. Also turning on comments now! :)
